GROW - CRAIGAVON NRA residents to achieve horticultural qualifications. residents to use their skills and knowledge in their own homes and. communities to develop a business case for the creation of allotments in NW Portadown NRA.

ENTERPRISE FIRMS Participants engage in activities that will help them gain a better understanding of enterprise and entrepreneurship and achieve nationally recognised qualifications: Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Award in Enterprise ILM Level 2 Award in Leadership and Team Skills World Host Sales and World Host Principles of Customer Service. Develop individually tailored Business Plans for their business ideas. Professional mentoring support from local business Team-building and confidence-raising residential events Participants can avail of: help with childcare, food, free driving lessons and travel expenses.

2 strands: Strand 1: The OCEANS project will entail 25 NRA residents improving their essential skills either in Information Technology, English or Numeracy. All residents will be supported by a mentor. Strand 2: On completion of strand 1, the 25 residents will begin the offshore training which will entail the accredited Basic Offshore Safety Induction & Emergency Training (BOSIET) course. This 3 day offshore course is designed to provide residents with a basic knowledge of safety and emergency response procedures for working in offshore environments. OCEAN PROJECT

SPICE - NEETS SPICE Programme is to equip 240 young people who are not engaged in education and are economically inactive living within the southern region to seek and secure employment through participation in a tailored programme leading to the achievement of nationally recognised qualifications. Target young people who have 'dropped out' of education and training and who are not in employment. It will tackle educational under achievement and barriers to employment; skills deficits and promote employment opportunities, promoting self esteem and sense of community. SPICE will deliver a variety of activities ranging from taster sessions, short accredited courses and courses which are 15 weeks to 30 weeks. Training programmes will be offered to young people under 24 years in the Southern region.
