CELL PART ANALOGIES Trenton Michalak & Travis Grahmann
2
NUCLEUS The nucleus is like the lead singer, it is the heart of the band because the nucleus is like the heart of the cell
3
CELL MEMBRANE The cell membrane is like a producer of music saying what you can produce and what you cant produce, like the cell membrane in a cell regulates what comes in and out of the cell
4
MITOCHONDRIA Mitochondria is like the power house of the band because in the cell the mitochondria converts chemical energy into food
5
CELL WALL The security guard of the band, it is a strong supporting layer around the cell membrane, the cell keeps the unwanted stuff out of the cell. The cell wall is mainly found in plant cells.
6
CYTOPLASM It is the portion of the cell outside the nucleus like the cars in the parking lot of a concert building.
7
VACUOLES The saclike structure that stores the material in a cell like a equipment closet that stores all the bands instruments.
8
NUCLEOLUS It is the small dense region in the nucleus where ribosomes assembly begins like the factory where they assemble the instruments.
9
CHLOROPLAST The organelles that capture energy from sunlight and convert it to chemical energy like sound absorbers that absorb the sound.
10
CENTRIOLE A pair of microtubules that help organize cell division like the instructor to help organize the music so it does not get mixed up and sounds good.
11
GOLGI APPARATUS The site where materials from the ER are modified, sorted, and packaged for storage like in a recording studio to make the singer sound better.
