3. Main messages from the Automotive Supply Chain to the OEMs
The Automotive Supply Chain is happy to have the well established IMDS system as the leading global system for the management of material reporting.
The CLEPA IMDS Expert Group feels an improved cooperation with the OEMs in the recent years (in particular between IMDS Steering Commitee and Suppliers Alliance) and we highly appreciate it.
The CLEPA IMDS Expert Group would like to point out some issues and make proposals for improvements

5. Communication - 1
 „Involvement of the supply chain before introducing new IMDS functions„
1st example: „GADSL checkbox“
The CLEPA IMDS Expert Group raised major
concerns on the sense of this checkbox
from a procedural point of view directly to
the IMDS steering commitee.
Our concerns were backed by a Plastics Europe statement on the checkbox wording from a liability perspective.
2nd example: „New version rule“
 Shortly after the introduction of this new function within IMDS release 9.0, the message was „reduced“ from an error to a warning.

6. Communication - 2  Biocide Product Regulation  IMDS 9.0 / 10.0
Especially by communication of Chairperson of the TF-Biocides
Suppliers were invited to the regular meetings
Supplier were able to actively contribute

For IMDS 9.0 many issues were raised by suppliers. Not much feedback from OEMs received after one year.

Promised to work on this by IMDS SC in 2014, 2013, 2012 …

Harmonization is also in interest of the OEMs and would increase quality of submitted data package
