Late Work I know that occasionally students forget to do their work or get busy (don’t we?) so homework may not get done. Why penalize their GRADE for things that might be out of their control? Late work will be accepted until the next assessment (quiz or test) for FULL credit Encourage QUICK turn around. Their NON-Achievement grade will reflect these behaviors. Policies

Homework/Classwork If they do not finish class work—it becomes homework! There may be Friday homework, but we try not to give homework over the weekend. Most work will be put into Lab Journals that are housed in class If your child is confused, needs help, needs to make up work…have them come to cocoa club; Wednesday before school, 9:30 am (cancelled tomorrow!) If absent, they WILL have work to make up. Can also pop in after arrival in the morning before 7:40 Policies

Missed Days Students must make up all work due to absences. Try to make all appointments not during science class… Students receive one day per day absent to make up the work. Because we correct in class, they may need to correct their work on their own, at home, off my website. Labs must be made up at the next cocoa club day. All homework is recorded on my website nightly (usually a week at a time). Policies

Strategies for Success Check your child’s planner and my website regularly Help your children keep their backpacks and binders organized and replenish supplies as needed. Regular attendance is essential. If they must be absent, support your child in making up missed work in a timely fashion (and help them get to cocoa club).

Communication Please don’t hesitate to email: jaegerk@issaquah.wednet.edu jaegerk@issaquah.wednet.edu Please don’t call during school hours 425-837-5982 Start having your child initiate communications and take responsibility for their learning.
