WiMAX standardization history

WiMAX FEATURES

PHYSICAL LAYER OF WiMAX

MIMO SYSTEMS

 Outages reduced by using information from multiple antennas.  Higher throughputs possible.  Transmit and receive interference limited by some techniques that are:- 1) SPATIAL DIVERSITY :- Improves Reliability 2) SPATIAL MULTIPLEXING :- Increases Data Rate 3) BEAMFORMING :-Improves Gain of Received signals MIMO TECHNIQUES

 Better BER (Bit Error Rate ) performance compared to simple WiMAX.  Determined by Space Time Coding & Spatial Multiplexing.  WiMAX includes MATRIX A & MATRIX B MIMO:- 1)MATRIX A (reliable communication)  Improves SNR at receiver side.  Expand cell radius.  Use of high order modulation to increase transmission speed.  Better throughput. 2) MATRIX B (increased channel capacity)  Unconventional data streams over each antenna.  Perfect signal conditions.  Use of data rate according to the number of antennas used. 11  MIMO along with WiMAX provides :- I. Better Sub-channelization. II. Improved Spectral Efficiency. III. Better rate of transmission.  Performance of MIMO-WiMAX systems in a multicell, multisector, and multiuser surroundings is of great impact in WiMAX technology by using single frequency. CONCLUSION

In MIMO-WiMAX, we can compare all the Receiver Diversity Schemes of MIMO with WiMAX and Multiplexing Techniques vs WiMAX, we can get a better comparison and a better Performance of their BERs. FUTURE SCOPE
