Introduction As we are here to talk about nervous system so firstly, lets know about neurons. Structural and functional unit of nervous system is called neuron. Neurons are of basically two types Afferent neuron(Sensory neuron) Efferent neuron(Motor neuron) Even neuron can be classify neuron on tbe basis of length and diameter also on the basis of structure.

Nervous system means the center where all information and sensory information are interpreted and motor signal is given for proper coordination and proper function of body. Most complex system of human body. Responsible for judgement, intelligence, memory. The part of the nervous system consist of :- ♢ Central nervous system -Brain & Spinal cord ♢ Peripheral nervous system - Cranial nerve(12 pairs) - Spinal nerve(31 pairs)
10
Central nervous system(CNS) Consist of brain and spinal cord
11
Peripheral Nervous System(PNS) Includes:- 12 pairs of cranial nerves 31 pairs of spinal nerves. Which also can be divided into somatic and autonomic systems. It is the way of communication from CNS to rest of body by nerve impulses which regulate body function.
