What is Dual Enrollment?
Comes from new California State legislation AB 288: “AB 288 College and Career Access Pathways Act to allow high school students, especially those in underserved communities, greater access to college courses and career tech classes at both high school and college campuses.” Norco College and CNUSD have been working on an agreement which allows for students to take Norco College classes taught at ERHS Differs from our current program of concurrent enrollment which has seat number and GPA limitations
4
AB 288 CCAP Partnership Agreements
Requires district level partnerships Intended to reach broader range of students, not just highly gifted or advanced scholastic or vocational work Emphasis on College and Career Readiness and CTE and transfer pathways Intended to reduce the number of students needing remedial math and English instruction at the community college level

Considerations A “D” or “F” or “W” (Withdraw) grade are permanently reflected on the student’s college transcript and the student may be placed on academic probation at the college level plus financial aid. Students are expected to attend classes. Students must be mentally, emotionally and academically prepared and ready for college rigor. Students are expected to complete rigorous course work, which may impact time available for extracurricular activities. Low grades can negatively impact high school GPA, high school graduation status and could affect 4-year college admission decisions. Poor grades can also impact CIF and NCAA eligibility. ERHS students enrolled in the Dual Enrollment program are COLLEGE STUDENTS. Students must act on their own behalf and instructors only communicate with the student.
