8 Limitations of Conventional treatment Methods:
ETP treated water can be consumed only after treatment through RO Plant. For Utilization of RO Reject Secondary RO / MEE is required. Restricted level of hardness and TDS in cooling water (Heavy Blow down). Water consumption, wastage and pollution is increased. Recurring Expenses on softener operation, Effluent RO/MEE operations and anti-scalant chemical dosing in cooling towers. No guarantee for zero scale (Production losses). Cleaning of the tubes is required.

9 ‘SCALEBAN’ SCENARIO: Direct use of ETP treated & RO rejected water in cooling tower with ZERO OPERATIONAL EXPENDITURE. Cooling tower will be operated at very high hardness up to 20,000 PPM and at very high TDS up to 2,00,000 PPM. Unbelievable COC level of in cooling tower. Reduction in cooling tower blow down by 90%. Elimination of Softener & anti-scaling chemical from cooling tower. Zero scale is guaranteed for 20 years. No requirement of cleaning of the heat exchangers.

11 HOW DOES SCALEBAN PREVENT SCALING IN YOUR EQUIPMENT?
SCALEBAN is an online pipe shaped mechanical device which houses very specially designed core that is Sintered with number of electronegative elements in their order of increasing electro negativity in the direction of water/fluid flow. As feed water/fluid passes through SCALEBAN, it acts as an electrolyte while it comes in contact with the core placed inside SCALEBAN. SCALEBAN makes use of Galvanic principle by locally enhancing the pH value of feed water/fluid. Due to the Galvanic action, the core gets negatively charged and attracts the lightest ions present in the fluid i.e. Hydrogen ion towards itself. The relationship between pH of water/fluid and H+ ion is expressed by the formula pH α 1/H+.

12 Thus, with the concentration of H+ ion becoming comparatively less in the water/fluid inside the equipment, pH value increases, there by precipitating Calcium and Magnesium salts before it comes in contact with hot tubes. Consequently, once the precipitation of these hardness causing salts has taken place, further precipitation due to temperature variation is not possible. SCALEBAN precipitates out Calcium and Magnesium bicarbonates in the colloidal form of Aragonite crystals much before the water/fluid attains the critical temperature of super saturation due to its coming in contact with hot tubes. These precipitated salts are in the colloidal form (small particles dispersed in another substance) and are suspended in water/fluid, and because of their very small size and lighter weight, the water/fluid flowing through SCALE-BAN carries away these precipitated salts. THE NET RESULT IS TOTAL PREVENTION OF HARD SCALE IN THESE SYSTEMS.
