Féile Peile na nÓg is a national festival of Gaelic football for boys and girls under 14 years of age. In 2017 a total of 252 teams took part 160 boys’ teams (80 Hosts / 80 Visiting) 92 girls’ teams (46 Hosts / 46 Visiting) Féile Peile na nÓg involves the whole club, the whole community, our local schools, our referees, host families as well as social, cultural and civic authorities. Féile Peile na nÓg 2018 is due to take place on Friday 15th – Sunday 18th June (provisional date – GAA Calendar for 2018 is yet to be agreed) Across the three Counties of Down, Louth and Meath we need over 80 boys teams (10 Divisions) and 40 girls teams (5 Divisions) For Clubs to take part – a club has to agree to host a visiting team (accommodating min 24 players in family homes + 4 mentors & providing hospitality over the weekend) Web: Facebook: FeileGAA

Hosting of Players Players must be accommodated in host family homes, with one of your own player’s families if possible. Players should be accommodated in groups of two/threes. It is unacceptable for children to be singly hosted. Preference is for hosting in groups of two. Children must be accommodated in single gender bedrooms and separate beds. Adults must not share a room with a young person. Host families should be well known to club officials. Web: Facebook: FeileGAA

Hosting of Players (cont) Each host family will be required to comply with Garda/PSNI vetting procedures. Host families must be Vetted through Leinster/Ulster GAA. This involves the satisfactory vetting of all persons in the host family and household who are, or shall be over the age of 18 years, during the hosting period. Web: Facebook: FeileGAA

Hosting of Mentors The host club should allow for four mentors to be accommodated. Whether mentors are housed in family homes or in other accommodation is to be decided by the host club. Web: Facebook: FeileGAA

Hospitality As a host club you will be expected to provide a level of hospitality for your visiting team and mentors. Food and refreshments for your visiting team on the Friday Evening after the games. Breakfast either with host family or in your club on the Saturday/Sunday Morning. Saturday evening, it is suggested that a host club would provide some form of hospitality for visiting players and mentors. General Format Féile Peile comprises of Host Clubs and visiting Teams Host teams shall normally be clubs that are registered to participate within the U14 age group in the designated host Counties (Down, Louth and Meath) The playing divisions shall be organised on the basis of 16 teams per division, composed of 8 host clubs and their visiting teams. General Format Games are 15 minutes a half Teams play two games on Friday afternoon/evening in a central venue (where possible double pitch venue) Host Club plays their visiting team on the Saturday Morning on your own Club Pitch (assuming your pitch meets health and safety standards) Saturday afternoon (In Central Venue) Top two teams in Group play in Cup Quarter Final / Bottom two teams in Group play in Shield Quarter Final Sunday – Semi Finals & Finals (Central Finals Venues) Web: Facebook: FeileGAA

This festival is about young people celebrating their love of Gaelic Games, bonding communities, allowing friendships to be made, providing educational opportunities and above all having fun. WHAT DO CLUB DO NOW If you want to be part of Feile Peile 2018 Make sure you complete the Hosting Application form and return it to your County Office by the 15th September 2017 along with the payment of € / £ All Cheques to be made payable to GAA Feile (All Hosts and Visiting teams pay the same entry fee) Application form / Host Club Information pack / Host Club Information Presentation is available from the website.
