We don’t “monetize” the information you store on your iPhone or in iCloud. And we don’t read your or your messages to get information to market to you. (They used the word don’t and put monetize in quotation marks which suggests apple does monetize data) Finally, I want to be absolutely clear that we have never worked with any government agency from any country to create a backdoor in any of our products or services. We have also never allowed access to our servers. And we never will. (The word never is used which is very extreme meaning it won’t happen) Tim Cook CEO Apple Inc.

We may collect a variety of information, including your name , mailing address and phone number…..( So they use the word may ,which more than likely means they will. Also, the word variety does explicitly say what other information they collect. It is vague.)

How apple use personal information?
We may use your personal information To help create, deliver, operate, and improve their products, services, advertising, and anti- fraud prevention. To verify identity and assist with identification of users. For internal purposes such as data analysis, research, and for auditing Apple’s products. To send important notices, such as communications about purchases and changes of their terms and conditions.

Apple may make certain information available to partners that work with Apple to provide products and services, or that help Apple market to customers. Data will only be shared by Apple to provide or improve products, services, and advertising. (They use the word only implies our data for these reasons and nothing else. Apple also disclose the types of third parties they share information with. Also, using the word obligated suggests that Apple bind these companies to protect your information.)

Access to personal info
You can correct your data if it is inaccurate or delete your data if Apple isn’t required to retain by law or for legitimate business purposes via Privacy Contact Form. (Apple does make it easy and give straightforward information on where and how to correct your data. ) We will provide you with access for any purpose… We may decline to process requests that are frivolous/vexatious, jeopardize the privacy of others, are extremely impractical

Children privacy policy
Children under the age of 13 are not permitted to create their own Apple ID’s , unless their parent gives verifiable consent or a managed Apple ID through their school. For example, a parent must review the Apple ID and Family Sharing Disclosure and agree to the Consent to Apple’s Collection If a parent needs to access, correct, or delete data associated to Family Sharing or the child’s Apple ID, they can contact Apple through their Privacy Contact Form. (This is actually from COPPA Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act)

APPLE’S COOKIES PRIVACY POLICY
Apple’s websites, online services, interactive applications, messages, and advertisements may use “cookies” and other technologies… (Here they use may which means they will and they put cookies in quotation marks suggesting that Apple doesn’t agree with the use of the term.) Apple gives the user the option to Limit Ad tracking. But, the customer still will see ads in the app Store or News based content. (The Privacy Directive requires clear consent for cookies.

Government info requests
Apple requires a search warrant for all U.S. requests for content. Apple will give prior notice to users whose data is requested by a law enforcement agency or government entity. They may also withhold notice in special circumstances, such as emergencies or child exploitation investigations or when notice would be counterproductive. Emergency request relate to circumstances such as imminent danger of death or serious physical injury. (Electronic Communications Act)

u.s. national security orders
U.S. National security orders demand that apple provide information in response to U.S. National security legal authorities. If apple receives a national security letter from the U.S. Government that contains an indefinite gag order, then apple notifies the government that it would like to review the non disclosure agreement. (National security will always trump privacy)

The location based services may use to determine your devices’ location. [This location data is collected anonymously in a form that does not personally identify the you... ](The use of the word may means they more than likely will and the use of the word anonymously to imply that the personal data can’t be identified. California privacy disclosure
Apple does not track its customers over time but some third party sites do keep track of your browsing activities. Apple informs its customers that safari allows them to set a DNT (Do Not Track) signals. They also make it clear in the notice for minors that they offer deletion capability for their services. But the customer should be aware that the removal of content may not ensure complete removal.

Apple privacy policy overall
Apple has used privacy as a competitive advantage. Apple’s privacy policy seems to consist of the Fair Information Practices as they disclose what information they collect and how it is used. Also, Apple gives its consumers the chance to amend, correct, or delete their data unless its required by law. Apple seems to take precautions to prevent the misuse of the data. Apple’s Privacy Policy is easy to understand because it doesn’t use technical or legal jargon which makes it clear. However, the policy does sugar coat with the verbiage “we may” a lot .
