5 Fig. 4 Pigmented purpuric dermatosis. Beneath the inconspicuous epidermis, in the upper portion of the dermis, angiocentered infiltrates of lymphocytes and histiocytes are seen, with erythrocyte extravasation and striking deposition of brownish pigment (hemosiderin) beneath the inflammatory component. The endothelial cells are swollen, but there is no vessel necrosis. Clinics in Dermatology  , 68-80DOI: ( /j.clindermatol ) Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Inc. Terms and Conditions

6 Fig. 5 Pigmented purpuric dermatosis. In this case, the epidermis shows a slight spongiosis and vacuolization of the basal membrane. Endothelial edema and erythrocyte extravasation are mild. 7 Fig. 6 Pigmented purpuric dermatosis iron stain. In the iron stain (Perl), the hemosiderin depositions are highlighted in blue and are seen mainly beneath the inflammatory component. Clinics in Dermatology  , 68-80DOI: ( /j.clindermatol ) Copyright © 2016 Elsevier Inc. Terms and Conditions
