What does ELSA stand for?

History of ELSA Founded on 4th of May 1981 in Vienna
5 Founders from 4 countries: Hungary, Poland, Germany, Austria Working for the same vision on three levels: Local National International ELSA will celebrate its 35th Anniversary during the Spring International Council Meeting to be held in Malta in March 2016.

International Focus Programme (IFP) seeks to provide a specific theme for the whole ELSA, to set a common goal, for all its members to work towards theme reflects a ‘hot legal topic’ in Europe and the world, thereby enabling ELSA to have an impact on law students, society and the international community IFP topic: Media Law 1st of August st of July 2016 ELSA is currently preparing for new topic

The European Human Rights Moot Court Competition (4th Edition)
simulation of the European Court of Human Rights concerning the violation of the European Convention on Human Rights to develop legal skills and raise awareness among law students about human rights Final Oral Round held in Strasbourg with the pleadings in the European Court of Human Rights “The Council of Europe Award” – Traineeships at the European Court of Human Rights for the winning team of the Competition in Cooperation with the Council of Europe

simulated hearing of the World Trade Organization dispute settlement system the world’s leading global competition on international trade law supported by the World Trade Organization Patron of the Competition: Director General of the WTO 5 Regional Rounds all around the world: 2 European Rounds, Asia-Pacific, All American, Africa Final Oral Round in Geneva, Switzerland - in the WTO headquaters itself

Moot Court Competitions –how to participate
teams consisting of 2-4 students enrolled in the University teams may have a team coach or academic advisor EMC2 registration fee (250EUR) EHRMCC without registration fee teams prepare memorials (written submissions) for both parties of the dispute second stage of the Moot Court is the oral pleading part registration form on the respective website of the Competition Hear from the experience: video

Student Trainee Exchange Programme (STEP)
The Student Trainee Exchange Programme enables law students and young lawyers to gain first-hand experience of the substantive and procedural law as well as the culture of another country. Traineeships all over the world in law firms, NGOs, IGOs, State bodies, banks etc. Traineeships for undergraduates, graduates and postgraduates Traineeships last from 2 weeks to 2 years, are paid and are free of charge video
