Throughout this presentation, we are going to show different movies which will support you for the installation, the operation & the maintenance of this system.
It will be crystal clear at the end of this show that the DQ3 is the easiest way to produce pure & UPW from tap.

3. Direct-Q 3 Installation
This combines 3 steps :
The unpacking & installation of the system
The SmartPak installation
The connection of filters
First of all, we are going to present the DQ3 installation.
It consists of 3 steps:
1st- the system itself is unpacked and installed.
2nd- the Smartpak consumable is put in place.
And 3rd- the different filters are connected.
Each part is now going to be reviewed in detail…

4. Unpacking & Installing
Our first movie is going to show how to unpack & install the system.
Install the reservoir valve… and plug !
UV lamp easily accessible for future maintenance
Quick Reference Guide always available with the system
Just connect to the tap, secure the tubing to the drain…

5. SmartPak Installation
Now the SmartPak is to be installed. Then an air purge and hydratuing phase will be performed.
Lets see how it works.

6. SmartPak Installation
Close the valve and allow the tank to fill up for 1h
Let flush the pack for 15 min
Always wet de SmartPak O-rings
Open the reservoir valve
Easy positioning of the Smartpak !

7. SmartPak Purging & Hydrating
Start production until the reservoir is empty
Connect the Point-Of-Use to the drain

8. Filters Connection Vent filter connected at the back of the system
Final step of the installation: the vent filter and the point-of-use filter have to be connected.

Let produce 1L of water to flush & hydrate the filter

2 water qualities available :
Type 3 from reverse osmosis stored in 6L internal reservoir.
Type 1 after the polishing cartridge : dispensed at the point of use
We are now going to operate the DQ3 we have just installed.
We remind you this system produces 2 types of water:
Type 3 water from reverse osmosis technology. It is stored in its 6L internal reservoir.
Type 1 UPW dispensed at the point-of-use
The next films will show how to access these purified waters.

10. Accessing Type 3 Water in the Internal reservoir
Depending on the system installation, the type 3 water access can be different

11. Delivering Type 1 Water at Point Of Use
The UPW is delivered at the POU after a brief recirculation step…
Before producing type 1 water, allow internal water to recirculate
Press once on the trigger to dispense the ultra pure water
Check volume in reservoir…
then press again to stop dispensing

12. The Ultra Pure Water Volumetric Dispensing
The UPW is delivered at the POU after a brief recirculation step…
Enter the appropriate mode FO1
Choose the required volume pressing + or - key
Start UPW production : the system automatically dispenses the expected volume

Changing the SmartPak & Filters
Replacing the UV Lamp
Sanitizing the reservoir
Similarly to the installation & operation, the maintenance of the DQ3 has been greatly simplified in order to make the customers’ work easier & quicker.
It only consists of 3 steps which are going to be described in details through the following slides.

14. SmartPak Replacement
1st step, the replacement of the SmartPak when the system asks for it.
Flush 15min to the drain then refill the reservoir
Replace the old pack & drain the reservoir
The red SmartPak icon flashes as an indicator

15. UV Lamp Replacement (once every 2 years)
2nd maintenance operation : the UV lamp replacement every 2 years.
The system will also specifically ask for it.
This step is always followed by the UV lamp timer resetting.
Gloves to protect the lamp integrity
Goggles in case of glass break
The red UV lamp icon flashes as an indicator
In the C05 mode, reset the timer for the next UV reminder to be on-time

16. Internal Reservoir Sanitization
Finally the customers can sanitize the DQ3 internal reservoir.
Millipore recommends such a cleaning once every year, particularly for customers’ applications sensitive to microbial contamination.
To efficiently rinse, refill the tank then empty it again
Let the system fill the tank - wait for 1 hour, then drain
Chemical sanitant = Hydrogen Peroxyde 30%
& purified water
The ‘sanitization kit’ includes the necessary accessories
By the vent filter access, inject 100mL of chemical then 100mL of pure water
