Summary This power point presentation will explore the classifications of Angels. This presentation will also seek to clarify the differences in the different types of angels and their primary purposes. Finally, this presentation will show the relationship that Angels have with both God and men.

Who do angels answer too? Do people actually have guardian angels?
An Introduction What is an angel? Are they meant to be agents of good or evil or are they neutral? Who do angels answer too? Do people actually have guardian angels? What are some angelic characteristics? In this presentation we will be investigating all of these questions in an attempt to better understand the supernatural entities that humans call angels.

Thesis From the dawn of time people have interacted with the supernatural but, what exactly are angels? Angels are the powerful servants of God that have many jobs, and positions. Angels are supernatural beings that live by their own class system, carry out the commands of God, and even interact with humanity.

Angels Defined Hebrew– Malak; meaning messenger
(Can refer to either a human or divine ”supernatural” messenger) Greek – Angelos; meaning messenger (similar in meaning and use to the Hebrew word Malak) English – a heavenly being charged by God with some commission.

Angels Other Names for In the Bible
Sons of God – Unfallen beings, God’s sons by creation (Job 1:6, 38:7) Holy Ones – Set apart by God; His attendants; Attendants to His holiness (Psalm 89:5,7) Host – Can denote the armies of heaven, “host of heaven” can usually be taken to mean a large grouping of angels, millions even. (Psalm 89:6,8, 1 Samuel 17:45, Isaiah 31:4)

Angels are referenced on thirty-four books of the Bible. Angels attended to Christ in the wilderness after he was tempted by Satan Angels in the Old Testament would bring messages from God to the people. (Matthew 22:29-30, 25:31-32,42)

Angelic Attributes Angels are Spiritual Beings > Angels may occasionally take human form in order to interact with humans, however angels are primarily spirit beings they are not slaves to the same laws as humans. The do not engage in marriages and they do not answer to death as humans do.

Angelic Attributes Angels are Created Beings > God created angels by his word as he did the majority of creation. Angels were created to give praise to God.

Angels were Created Simultaneously and Innumerable in Number > The creation of angels was a singular act, angels are incapable of reproduction, the number of angels in existence is static, however, that number is so vast that is simpler to describe the hosts of heaven as countless then to attempt to number them.

Angels are a Higher Order than Man > Angels do not have human limitations , angels are not created in the image of God, and they do not share in the promise of human redemption. Though angels are currently higher than men redeemed man will be higher than the angels.

Angels Classification of Angels Who are Governmental Rulers >
Powers – those given authority - This is often used in reference to fallen angels under the control of Satan who are given authority over specific cites, or territories. Angels Who are Highest Ranking > - Michael the “archangel,” is the only angel of his type. Michael is the protector of Israel. - Other “ruling angels,” Are mentioned in the Bible but Michael is the highest ranking overall.

- Michael, the only Archangel ,(His name means, “who is like God?” - Gabriel, God’s messenger, appears four times in the Bible, (His Name means, ”God is Strong.”) - Lucifer, was the elite among angels before he desired to be equal with God and was cast out of heaven, became Satan / The Devil (His name means, “Star of the Morning.”)

- Cherubim : Are one of the highest order of angels, and are associated with power and beauty. Not necessarily human in form. - Seraphim : “the burning ones,” They surround the throne of God. They proclaim the holiness of God constantly.

- Angels have announced the judgment of the unbelievers(e.g. Sodom ) - Angels have predicted the destruction of Satan and his fallen angelic agents.

Conclusion This presentation displayed the commands that angels carry out, their interactions with God and with men, the most notable angels, as well as the class systems that angels abide by. Through out this presentations angels have been addressed as the immortal servants of the Lord. They have power and authority, however, in the end of the age through the resurrection of Jesus Christ those who believe and serve Christ will rise even above the angelic hosts of heaven.
