As we study the foundations of our government it is important to recognize how and why our democracy has changed over time. It is this very adaptability which has allowed our Constitution to become the oldest living constitution in the world today.

In any true democracy, the will of the people should be expressed by the leaders. So let’s take a closer look at our leaders and find out how they have led our country through times of struggle and change.

Objective: Research one of our Presidents from the teachers list and find out his personal history and his impact on our democracy and create a piece of our Presidential Timeline. Sources: textbook, the internet, biographies, etc.

Dates in office and # in order of Presidents. Life span Personal History ( born, raised, family, occupation, hobbies/interests, etc.) Political Party Did he appoint any Supreme Court Justices? Who? Big Events happening during presidency Challenges faced, and big decisions Controversy's Legacy: effect/impact on the U.S.– what were they remembered for? Trivia – find interesting/little known fun facts!
