STATION 6: Make a Star Finder
Number of players: 3 - 4 Each player gets a different star chart month – 1 per season. 2. Hold up the star chart over your heads and look up at it, and turn it so the northern horizon side is facing north. Compare each month to observe how the stars appear to move relative to you on the ground and to each other as time and seasons pass. 3. Why can you be standing in the same spot, and looking at the sky, during summer and then during the winter, and see different star patterns? Why don’t we see the same thing? Discuss with your group. Teachers: Ahead of time go to and print out star finder patterns for the months of the year.
