10 Technical Considerations
Non-QlikView specific technical considerations Multi-hop authentication Cross-site scripting Addressed by Placement of QlikView Web Server and SharePoint IIS Authentication strategy NTLM vs. HTTP Header vs. Kerberos QlikView Web Server / QlikView Server interaction is handled internally We only need consider the Web Servers Use of proxy.aspx page If possible, choose an architecture with a simple security configuration x To edit headline:Click on placeholder headline, delete it, and type in your own headline. To edit text: Click on placeholder bulleted text, delete it, and type in your own bulleted list.

11 Configuration Option #1
NTLM Authentication / QlikView Web Server component installed on SharePoint server QlikView Web Server QlikView Server Configuration # Description Security Multi-Hop Cross Site Scripting Configuration Effort 1 QlikView Web Server on SP IIS Server NTLM No No if QV uses IIS Yes if QV uses QVWS Low Configuration Option #1 – The simplest option is to install an additional QlikView Web Server instance on the SharePoint server. This amounts to 1 hop, so we can use NTLM. (The hop between QWVS / QVW doesn’t count. That is handled internally by QlikView.)

12 Configuration Option #2
HTTP Header Authentication / QlikView Web Server component installed on separate server QlikView Web Server for Non-SP access QlikView Web Server for SP QlikView Server Configuration # Description Security Multi-Hop Cross Site Scripting Configuration Effort 2 QlikView Web Server not on SP IIS Server HTTP Header Yes Medium Configuration Option #2 – We can use HTTP header authentication and install an additional web server on a different server to handle traffic from Sharepoint. It cannot be the same web server as non-Sharepoint QlikView users, because the web server configuration is different and won’t support both types of access simultaneously. This is two hops and can be handled by HTTP authentication, but not NTLM. (The hop between QWVS / QVW doesn’t count. That is handled internally by QlikView.)

13 Configuration Option #3
Kerberos Authentication / No Additional Components QlikView Web Server QlikView Server Configuration # Description Security Multi-Hop Cross Site Scripting Configuration Effort 3 QlikView Web Server not on SP IIS Server Kerberos Yes High Configuration Option #3 – We can use Kerberos authentication. This provides for the cleanest installation, but also the most difficult to troubleshoot. Kerberos is notoriously difficult to deal with. There are two hops in this configuration, so NTLM is not possible. (The hop between QWVS / QVW doesn’t count. That is handled internally by QlikView.)
