2 ABSTRACT The project can crusher is a device used for crushing aluminum cans for easier storage in recycling bins. While most recyclers don’t require you to crush cans, if you do recycle a lot, your normal bin may fill up quickly. The crusher gives you extra space by flattening either single or multiple cans. This project is about designing and fabricating the Recycle Bin Tin Can Crusher to help people to crush the tin and aid easier transportation. This project is mainly about generating a new concept of tin can crusher that would make easier to bring anywhere and easier to crush the tin.

3 INTRODUCTION A can crusher is a pneumatic device which is used for squashing food and beverage cans to save space for recycling. The disposal of the used cans can pose a problem because the empty cans occupy space. Also the transport of empty cans become difficult. There is a need to crush these cans. So, that they occupy smaller space for strong end transport. This will help recycling of the material of the can. It can be placed everywhere, in the park, houses. To design the pneumatic part of a can crusher and to fabricate the pneumatic part of the system is the step to learn pneumatic engineering.

4 PARTS USE AIR COMPRESSOR:
Air compressor is a device that converts power (usually form an electric motor, a diesel engine or a gasoline engine) into kinetic energy by compressor and pressurizing air, which, on command, can be released in quick bursts.

5 SOLEINOID VALVE A solenoid valve is a device which is used to transform air from compressor to cylinder. Whenever the air enters in the solenoid valve by the usage of hand lever the air allows to move forward by which the piston in the cylinder also moves forward. .

6 PNEUMATIC DOUBLE ACTING CYLINDER
Double- acting cylinders use the force of air to move in both extends and retract strokes. They have two ports to allow air in, one for out stroke and one for in stroke.

7 AIR FLOW LINES Function These valves allow controlled flow of air in one direction and free flow in the other direction. Applications These valves are used to control the speed of piston in a pneumatic cylinder. These are otherwise termed as nippers.

8 SILENCER Silencers are used to reduce the noise of the exhaust air.
Features Brass body and sintered bronze silencer elements Button, conical, silencer cum flow control (with lock nut) , silencer cum flow control( with spring) types. Good flow and silencing characteristics. Can be cleaned by kerosene and soap water.

9 Polyurethane tubes It is used to connect the pneumatic cylinder and direction control valve. Pipe diameter is 5mts. It is a PVC pipe. These pipes carry air from the compressor to cylinder by the means of solenoid valve and the other particles. These pipes are strong enough to carry in the system. Base plates These are the plates which are used to give support to the cylinder as well as the cylinder is made to be a support and the base plates are there by giving a rigid supports to the cylinder. Punch Punch is the main object which is to crush the tin. It is a iron metallic piece which is made by using grinding. The diameter of the crush is 60 x 60. It is square shaped iron metallic piece with and surface grinding is made to that respective piece.

DESIGN OF PNEUMATIC CAN CRUSHER Varieties of designs are available for can crusher in market depending of final users from multi can crusher to single can crusher. Actually we design a pneumatic can crusher for crushing soft drink cans of length 150mm approximately. CATIA V5 R19 Application: The design or concept sketched is transferred to part modeling using CATIA.

17 FABRICATION PROCESS After designing phase, fabrication process takes place. These process are about using material selection and make the product base on the design and by followed the deign dimension. Many methods can be used to fabricate a product, like welding, cutting, drilling and many more methods.

19 OPERATION OF PNEUMATIC CAN CRUSHER
This chapter involved working operation and the performance of the pneumatic can crusher, and compared the results before and after the crushing of cans. WORKING OF PNEUMATIC CAN CRUSHER After completing fabricating process, the final product i.e. pneumatic can crusher is

20 RESULT AFTER FINISHING
After finishing the final product, we crushed the cans and we got flat shaped beverage can which its length is reduced from 150mm to 30mm. hence, by using this pneumatic can crusher we are able to crush the number of cans very easily.

22 SCOPE FOR FEATURE EXTENSION
CONCLUSION In this project, we designed the pneumatic can crusher manually and generated in 3d model by using CATIA design software. SCOPE FOR FEATURE EXTENSION By placing the electric motor instead of manually operated gives more results the pneumatic can crusher can be made with electrical & hydraulic system also.
