Optimize Image Quality and Processing
Be more productive with advanced image processing functions: Rotate, crop, blank and rescan Delete blank pages; auto-delete separator sheets on output, and more Copy scanned/reviewed images and reuse them in the batch for greater productivity Image merge and split – Now do multiple document splits with one operation Lots of image processing tools for fast processing and optimal image quality. Rotate images, crop them, blank out select areas of an image, apply these to all images in a document. Quickly rescan a page and automatically insert it into the right place. Automatically delete blank pages. Auto-delete separator sheets on output so archived batches are “clean” Copy and paste images within a document or batch so you can be more productive by scanning and reviewing once, then re-using as needed. Merge multiple images into one or split an image into several individual images. Capture Pro has the ability to do multiple document splits with one operation. In the batch explorer, select multiple pages, then perform a single split operation to create a new document starting with each page selected. This helps increase throughput and productivity during post-scan processing. You can auto-delete header or document separator sheets on output so your archived batches are “clean” and free of extraneous separator sheets that are no longer needed. Enhanced Data Integrity
Optimize your data integrity during indexing with Double Data Entry Two indexing operators independently key in critical index data Capture Pro compares the data and prompts for a correction if a mismatch Less indexing errors means better data integrity and fewer “lost” records Select option in Index Field Setup… Correct mismatch when prompted Talk through what it does: Key benefit: ensures that critical index data will be correct, saving time and effort later in recovering lost data. First picture: Select this as an option on the Edit Index Field screen. This sets up 2 separate indexing states: Index 1 and index 2. In each state, the indexing operator keys in the specified index data. Second Picture: When the sw finds a mismatch in the entered values, the second operator is prompted to enter the correct data. This process ensures that indexing data will be correct (better integrity) and there will be fewer cases of “lost” records that have to be searched out because of incorrect indexing.

Use Drag and Drop OCR to initiate the lookup…
Database Lookup Increase indexing productivity with Database Lookup: Look up one or two key index values and pull data from an ODBC database to populate other index fields Improve indexing accuracy and productivity for less work and fewer errors Use Drag and Drop OCR to initiate the lookup… The index fields are automatically filled with information from the database. Thanks to Capture Pro Software’s database lookup feature.” One of the powerful indexing tools in Capture Pro is database lookup. This tool allows you to automatically do a look up on one or (now) two key index values in order to validate that the captured index field is correct and to automatically populate other index fields with data associated with the lookup values. Display a range of 5 to 500 results. Talk through animation (enter a key index value, such as customer number, database lookup goes to the database, finds associated record and metadata and uses that to populate the other index fields such as name and address). Key benefits: more accurate, more productive. Can reduce cost, as one of our customers tells us…

Process Surveys and Other Checkmark Forms
Process surveys and “checkmark” forms with Mark Detection Uses OMR technology to detect marks in framed or unframed zones Returns an index value for individual zones or groups of zones Automates extraction of index values from “checkmark” forms Capture Pro now offers basic mark detection, which uses Optical mark recognition (OMR) technology. Mark detection: Works on lead page of a document (like other “zonal” capabilities today); front or back Can look for individual mark detection zones or groups of 2-10 zones A zone group allows a single value to be produced by multiple zones, so for example you can have a multiple choice question with a zone for each answer, and put all the answer zones into one group for that question. Then, whichever zone in that group is checked, it becomes the answer for that question and the sw returns one index value for the question. Multiple values can be returned if more than one zone in a group is checked. You can define a value to return if a zone or zonal group is unfilled, for ex: “N/A” or “no response” You can set the sensitivity to reduce false positives if the documents are “noisy” Mark detection can be used in conjunction with other features to provide more capability: for example, use mark detection to “classify” document types, have the documents go into predefined hot folders for each doc type, then have Auto Import bring in the docs and implement a specific job setup for that doc type This version of mark detection: Reads only the lead page of a document (like our other zonal technologies) Does not use anchor points (registration marks) Works well on simple, uncrowded forms; it is not as accurate on densely crowded forms like standardized test answer sheets Checkmarks are detected in the designated zones and the corresponding index fields are populated.

Example: Auto Import in use in a distributed healthcare environment
Leverage your MFPs and other content sources with Auto Import: Fully automated import of images from network hot folders – extends your capture options with no scanner or operator intervention required! Imported images are handled like those that are locally scanned Option to run as a service for true operator independence! Another key capability is the Auto Import feature. What it does for you Protects your investment in MFPs, specialty scanners, image archives Applies the power of Capture Pro to applications that don’t use an attached scanner Combines all document content into one capture workflow Talk through the illustration: Various image sources in distributed medical offices can feed doc images to one or more “hot folders” on a network. Capture Pro Auto Import automatically polls the hot folders and imports the images and processes them just as if they were coming right from a scanner. But, it runs unattended and can work 24/7. Auto Import is available as a standard feature in license groups E-G, and it can also be purchased as a separate license. Auto Import runs as a service so it is truly operator independent. As long as the server is running, no manual start up or shut down of Auto Import is required and Auto Import will start up automatically when the server is rebooted. More PDF Power Make multi-document PDFs easier to use with PDF Bookmarks Useful when outputting multiple documents to a single file: for example, documents in an employee file folder Each document is bookmarked, making it easy to locate and navigate to the content Many other PDF output options (password protected; fast web view; searchable; output documents over 200 inches long; more) Capture Pro provides great flexibility in outputting PDF files. Of course we can output unlimited searchable PDF, PDF/A, PDF/MRC etc. Other PDF options include: The Fast Web View option makes speeds up subsequent viewing of a large pdf document on the Web, by letting you start to view the document even as the remainder of the file is downloading, so you don’t have to wait for the whole thing before you begin to view it. You can output password encrypted PDFs to protect sensitive documents. New in v4.5, you can add bookmarks when outputting multiple documents into a single PDF file, which makes it a snap to locate and navigate to desired content. Get Data about Your Batches
The Network Edition Dashboard provides valuable insight into batch status and other batch details across your network. Configure the number of batch statuses that are displayed on Dashboard Use your own database to store batch status and history data. The dashboard lets us see a great deal of detail about any given batch: its size, who processed it, when the batch was processed, where it’s located, how many images it contains, and so on.
