Going to High School To earn a high school diploma, you must…
Earn 24 credits in specific subject areas Pass the Graduation Test - Writing Attend school Complete 20 hours of approved Community Service by the end of the 3rd year 4

A number (1.0) to indicate you passed a class. To earn credits you need to be in class and pass the class! 5

Required Areas of Study Units Required English Language Arts 4 Mathematics 4 Science 4 Social Studies 3 Health & Physical Education 1 World Language 2 College Prep (3 preferred) OR 1 CTAE (2 preferred) CTAE Pathway 4 * * (must be in approved sequence of courses) Electives College Prep 3 CTAE Total Minimum Units 24 Community Service Requirements In addition to successfully completing all academic and attendance requirements as outlined by the SCCPSS and the state of Georgia, every student must complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service by the completion of the junior year. Refer to IHE-R for students entering SCCPSS from private or out-of-county school after 9th grade. 6

Going to High School Secondary Assessment Transition Plan Students entering grade nine for the first time first during the school year and beyond Must pass the GHSWT •Are not required to take or pass GHSGT (test not administered) •Are required to pass courses* associated with EOCT, with EOCT contributing 20% to course grade 15

Every student must complete a minimum of 20 hours of community service by the completion of the junior year. Must be completed at a non-profit agency Student cannot work at a business Cannot be completed during the school day Student cannot get paid 17
