11. So what about health and sustainable agriculture ?
One have to consider:
Biodiversity
- in the surrounding environment
- at the farm
Biosecurity
Production economy and risks
Lots of conflicting interest

12. Biodiversity in the environment and infectious diseases
High biodiversity in wildlife generally good (serves as a buffer)
Also low density of animals
Also large habitats

13. “Biodiversity” at the farm and infections
Generally regarded as a risk to mix or keep several species closely together
However, in another way the farm as a whole more vulnerable if just one species
Mixed messages!

It is easier to keep a high biosecurity if there is:
One species at the farm
Small units
Confined units
