Our school is situated in Alcalá de Henares, a town of approximately 200,000 inhabitants, 30 km North-East from Madrid. There are 2,400 students aged 12 to 20. The staff is formed by 211 teachers, and about 30 secretaries, caretakers and other support staff. We teach Secondary Education, Bachillerato (Upper Secondary Education) and many specialities of Vocational Training. There are morning, afternoon and evening classes.

We are proud of our exhibition room…
Here we show our work and projects. We also host other exhibitions of interest for our students Students working hard on a project

Our Library In its 500 m2, you can browse through journals, newspapers and magazines. There are more than 30,000 books waiting for you! Students read and do research for their papers.

The Sports Centre Here, we do athletics and practise sports like volleyball, basketball, and football (among many others). The sports centre building occupies 2,500 m2 and there are tracks and pitches outdoors (they occupy a total of 18,000 m2). It’s huge!! If you look at the picture, you can see the sports centre right. The main football pitch stands between the sports centre and the main building (which is in the foreground). There is a swimming pool near the sports hall, but today it is no longer in use. What a pity!

Our theatre … hosts the major events during the academic year: the welcoming of parents and students by the Director and her team, as well as cultural and music performances, the students’ awards in June… and many more celebrations… It occupies approximately 900m2, so start counting how many people can sit there!!

Cunselling Department and Students Union.
There is also a Student Union that offers all of us information about high school and careers, grants and counselling. However, we also go to the Counselling Department and talk to the counsellors and teachers working there. They are very nice! Counselling department and the counsellors.

The Cafeteria Students’ cafeteria
There are two cafeterias in our high school. The teachers’ is on the main grounds, and the students’ on the basement. We meet each other and relax at the students’ cafeteria at our break time, from 11:10 to 11:40 everyday. Juan, Mari Paz and Alicia offer us snacks, sandwiches, drinks … (unfortunately, the next lessons always comes up very soon) If the weather’s nice most of us prefer to stay outdoors sitting at the entrance steps. Since the high school is situated on a hill, you get a very nice view of Alcalá and the surrounding area! And enjoying the sun is wonderful! Students’ cafeteria

Storks, the symbol of our city Cervantes’ Square. This major Spanish writer was born and spent his childhood in Alcalá. In the middle of this peaceful square, you can see his statue Don Quixote: [to Sancho] “There is a world outside La Mancha. There is a great elsewhere, my neighbour. And there we may both find fame and fortune.” High Street
