Chemistry CHEM 1011, Molecules and Man, has been replaced with a new non-majors chemistry sequence. Respiratory Therapy students and any students that need a GE Physical Science or a sequence can now take CHEM 1001 (Chem I non-majors), CHEM 1002 (Chem II non-majors) and the labs that accompany them if needed.
3
Developmental Math Initial math placement will still be done by ACT subscore and/or Accuplacer exam. The initial placement indicated on the student’s myLSUE web page will be the correct placement. MATH 0001 has not changed, but MATH 0002 will no longer be taught after this summer. A “C” or better in MATH0002 will still allow enrollment into 1015 or 1021.
4
New Developmental Math
After finishing MATH0001, students will schedule MATH0015 (3hr) or MATH0021(4hr), whichever is appropriate for their first college level mathematics course. Course content has been altered to better prepare students for their needs.
5
New College Algebra Course
MATH1020 is a new, 5 hour, college algebra course that is equivalent to MATH1021. It has additional pre-algebra content built into the first portion of the course. Students with a MATH ACT score of should be encouraged to take MATH1020 instead of MATH1021.

Students initially placing into MATH1550 may petition for the MATH1021credit upon registration and credit in MATH1022 when they earn a “C” or better in MATH1552. A Math ACT score of 25 and above allows students to transcript credit in one or more mathematics courses for $10 per credit hour.

LSUA Concurrent Enrollment and prerequisite checks
Faculty will NOT be able to see the students LSUA transcripts, transfer credits, or placement scores on our site. If a pre-requisite is “missing”, such as an ACT or Accuplacer score, check advising notes. If nothing is found in the notes that explains their enrollment, then contact your division.
