“Every prisoner should have a Personal Learning Plan that specifies the education activity that should be undertaken during their sentence.” Unlocking Potential, A review of education in prisons. Dame Sally Coates May 2016. Created to support the learner journey from Induction to release, documenting sentence targets, NCS targets and soft skills. Used as the overarching document to which individual ILPs are added as learners progress to different courses. Follows the prisoner when moved onwards. Populated by a prisoner in privileged position under the observation of SSW or tutors. Virtual Campus Content Development “HMP Stafford operates a ‘Content Development Workshop’. It provides a model of prisoner engagement with the current VC that could be more widely developed. Prisoners at the workshop have recently created content for an and search engine simulator, glossaries for ICT and ITQ, websites and simulation of shopping and baking sites. Here the VC is giving real ICT skills to prison learners that will support their future employment opportunities.” Unlocking Potential, A review of education in prisons. Dame Sally Coates May 2016. Resources created in the L1/2 IT classroom to support entry level IT. Created by a prisoner with suitable knowledge, cleared though security and monitored by Education and MKC VC champion. Now on VC as Smart Tools v1.
