The WHAT of the workshop
CS4HS is a Google funded workshop to expose “secondary” teachers to computing. Many different formats/topics offered at several dozen locations around the country This week’s workshop will focus on Scratch (more on that in a bit).

WHAT - Daily Schedule (Most times are targets and should be treated lightly)

WHAT Topic Schedule You will incorporate Scratch into at least one of your classes. You will produce and submit At least one artifact (e.g. lesson plan, worksheet, assignment, specific program) A written experience report

WHAT Topic Schedule You will return to campus for phase two later in the fall… Select either Saturday, November 5th Saturday, November 12th You will present (10-15 minutes) your materials and experiences to the group.

Teachers are better able to convey their subject(s) when they can approach the material through a variety of techniques and modes.

Children don't get ideas; they make ideas. Learners are particularly likely to make new ideas when they are actively engaged in making some type of external artifact – be it a robot, a poem, a sand castle, or a computer program.
