4 Vortex sensing element: DSC sensor
10/3/2017 Vortex sensing element: DSC sensor Capacitive sensor Primary vibration compensation (center of gravity) Ruud Helders PMF

5 10/3/2017 Minimum flow limits Physical limits based on principle ( Karman street) 1) Depending on density Example: Water Example: 0°C, bara Ruud Helders PMF

6 Minimum flow limits 2) Depending on Reynolds-Number
10/3/2017 Minimum flow limits 2) Depending on Reynolds-Number NOTE: linear measuring range starts at Re=20’000! Ruud Helders PMF

7 Maximum flow limits Liquids Gas / Steam
10/3/2017 Maximum flow limits Liquids 9 m/s flow velocity Gas / Steam DN15: 46 m/s DN25 and DN40: 75 m/s DN50…DN300: 120 m/s (factory calibrated up to 75 m/s) Use Applicator for the flow sizing / physical limits Ruud Helders PMF

8 10/3/2017 Main sensors Ruud Helders PMF

9 10/3/2017 Reduced inlet runs Downstream of reducers and elbows (cases 1, 4, 5, 6) inlet runs can be reduced to 10D electronically (only 0.5% additional uncertainty) Ruud Helders PMF

13 Wet Steam Measurement Ruud Helders PMF

14 Prowirl 200 is optimized for steam applications!
Prowirl 200 helps! Prowirl 200 helps! Prowirl 200 is optimized for steam applications! Wet steam detection 100% steam quality Worldwide unique One of its kind warning Stepping stone to “wet steam measurement” Patented! 80% steam quality Ruud Helders PMF

15 Safety and steam and water hammer
Wet steam leads to steam and water hammer and can be very dangerous causing explosions. From a health & safety point of view we can provide our customers with a variety of “wet steam”, “phase change” and “wet steam detection” warnings and alarms all described in detail in the following slides. Uniquely, we can also measure steam dryness fraction “online” – and for the line sizes and steam conditions for which we can provide this invaluable parameter see slide 12. Some examples of the damage that can be done by water hammer! Luckily nobody was injured on right. Tony Donnelly

16 Superheated steam and gas – pressure input required!
Prowirl 200 helps! Superheated steam and gas – pressure input required! Pressure can be read in via 4-20 mA, HART, Profibus or FF Alternatively, a fixed value for pressure can be assumed Only available with “Mass flow” option Ruud Helders PMF
