UCSB MRSEC: PREM Partnerships [Jackson State and UTEP]
Continuing PREM with Jackson State (2006-present) PREM with U Texas El Paso (2012-present) Neither institution has an MS&E Program. Links are with Chemistry Departments. Support to UCSB is modest. No research costs. Typically 4 interns from each partner institution supported every summer. Requires clever (and hopefully honest !) strategies to show “productivity”. Travel and meeting costs covered. In the case of the UTEP PREM, the exchange of interns is two-way. Visits to JSU from students and faculty from UCSB. JSU students at UCSB [MROP 2015] UCSB students, post-docs, and faculty running a workshop at UTEP
