3 John Cabot Academy Vision Statement
We are: … positive, optimistic and ambitious about the future and the potential of everyone associated with our school. We value difference and see diversity – in all its forms – as adding to the richness of our environment and contributing to our broad world view. We care deeply about the wellbeing of all our people and are willing to work hard to ensure that each and every one of us can make the most of our talents and use them to achieve our goals; whatever they may be. We are energetic and uncompromising in our pursuit of excellence, and recognise that application and commitment are as important in this as natural talent. We are always looking for ways to improve the school and the experience of those who come here – students and staff alike.

10 The Importance of Excellent Attendance
Of students who miss between 10% and 20% of school, (80 -90% attendance) only 35% manage to achieve good qualifications including English and Mathematics % Attendance = Nearly one day off per month 90% Attendance = Two days off per month Parents/carers have a legal duty to ensure that children of compulsory school age attend school on a regular and full-time basis.

11 At JCA we will not tolerate bullying
We have an anti-bullying policy that outlines our approach to all forms of bullying. This includes physical, verbal, racist, homophobic and cyber bullying. We expect that every member of our community has the right to come to school without fear of being threatened, intimidated, mocked or abused. We all have a responsibility to make sure that bullying is not part of life at our school.
