Why use Interactive Board for teaching Social Studies
Social Studies lends itself to topics suitable for using interactive education Reinforces social studies topics in a variety of formats – videos, games, hands-on learning

A Plan of Action Look at your SOLs and think about what topics you want to reinforce several times Think of at least 3 ways you can do this- Handouts? Group work? Special projects? Interactive learning?

What SOL topics work well with interactive learning?
True and False Facts Maps and pictures Topics that can be made into a game Which can you think of? Show TRM books and how later we will discuss these.

Creating Interactive lessons
SMARTBoard Gallery Download videos and make time-lines Create games that can be played while you are taking care of morning business such as lunch money, etc. OR while you are working in groups and cannot work with the entire class Show TRM lessons and brainstorm about how to make these activities into an interactive whiteboard activity.
