What do I need to have? Easy access to a child aged more than 4 months and less than 4 years at the beginning of year 10. Ability to work independently to meet the deadlines set throughout the coursework. Interest in children.

Introduction to child. Research based on chosen set task. 4 visits over 4 months.( 2 linked to set task) 1 final evaluation. Research task. 20% 7 hours of supervised time. Research from various sources- primary and secondary. ( more marks for primary)- produce a powerpoint a leaflet

4 What makes up the marks? Final mark = 40% observation study. +20% research task. +40% exam. Exam = 1 ½ hour exam- 6-8 questions.

5 Classwork topics. Parenthood. Pregnancy Conception. Antenatal care.
Birth. Care of child- cleaning - feeding - Development. (PIES) Physical. Intellectual Emotional and social. Support for the parent and the child.
