Jump Start Curriculum Class of 2018 and beyond

Attendance For a ½ credit course, students are only allowed 6 unexcused absences before credit is denied in that course. For a 1 credit course, students are only allowed 11 unexcused absences before credit is denied in that course. THS offers Attendance Recovery after school to allow the students to earn their credit(s) back if they go beyond 6 unexcused absences in a ½ credit course or 11 unexcused absences in a full credit course. Limits apply to max days allowed to miss. See your school counselor for further information. Attendance Recovery is Monday-Thursday, 2:30-4:00pm in THS library and transportation is provided.

GPA 5 point Scale 4.0 Scale 5.0 Scale Regular and Pre-AP courses
AP Core courses only Valedictorian: A student with the overall highest GPA in their graduating class. The student also needs to take a minimum of 12 Pre-AP/AP courses. Honors Graduate: A student needs at least a 3.5 GPA with 8 Pre-AP/AP courses and have no grade lower than a C on their final transcript.

What is Jump Start Jump Start is the state’s new program for school districts, colleges, and businesses to collaborate in providing career courses and workplace experiences to high school students. Jump Start also allows students to continue their education after high school while certifying them for the career fields most likely to lead to high-wage jobs. Students who are in the 2014 cohort and beyond. Every student has to sign into one diploma track by the end of their 10th grade year.

Work Keys – Students must take in addition to, not in place of ACT

Graduation Pathways Pathways are a complete list of courses that students can take to fulfill the Jump Start requirement of passing courses that represent (9)CTE Carnegie credits towards a particular credential. There are three types: State: need 1 credential Regional: need 3 credentials Integrated: need1 state cred. or 3 regional cred.
