Year 8 Goal Setting 1. Character Development – What areas of your sons character can be improved this year? What virtues does your son need to foster that will help him become a better son and student? 2. Academics – Is your son organised in terms of his study routines? Does he dedicate enough hours to study outside of doing homework? Which subjects will he try to do better in this year? 3. School Community – What can your son do to get involved in the activities of the school? Does he wear his uniform with pride? Is he happy when other students in the school are rewarded for their achievements? 4. Home Life – What can your son do to help out at home? Does he understand that being part of a family also means helping out so that the home functions properly?

Areas of Focus for the Class
Inclusion and acceptance of all members of the class – Zero tolerance for bullying, raising the human tone in the classroom, genuine concern for others Spiritual Formation – Mass attendance, Confession, Acts of Piety such as the Rosary, Spiritual Reading, Mental Prayer Cultural Formation – Reading classic works of literature, reading books that promote virtues, listening to classical music, reading good journals and watching good documentaries. Academic Standards – Trying their best in every subject, having good study routines, self-motivated learning rather than learning to obtain rewards.
