1 The Puritans they were the English settlers who came to the New World
the 1st group landed at Plymouth, MA in the early ’s and set up Plymouth Colony they were seeking religious freedom they were practical people and committed to their cause The Puritans

2 Puritan Beliefs because of Adam & Eve’s sin, all humans were damned, but God sent His son so that some people could be saved a person’s fate was determined by God Divine Providence - belief that God controls what goes on; punishes the wicked and rewards the good read the Bible and believed it was the literal word of God
