3 Blogs vs Wikis

4 Blogs Personal, less collaborative. Text is considered to be static.
Monological: typically monologue with audience commentary. Dominantly chronological. Speech: spontaneous, non-revisable and as permanent as memory.

5 Wikis Can be personal but open to collaboration. A node/topic is considered public space. Aim is creation of documents (individual pages as well as the entire wikiweb). Text: considered, revised, and as permanent as print. Hypertext linking central to text creation.

6 What is a blog?

7 Blogs (I) A website where entries are commonly displayed in reverse chronological order. Blogs are usually composed of one or more blog entries with its own title and always says the date and time you published it. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.Text is considered to be static.

8 Blogs (II) A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. Most blogs are primarily textual, although some focus on art (artlog), photographs (photoblog), sketchblog, videos (vlog), music (MP3 blog), audio (podcasting).
