My Perspective NC AWWA-WEA protects public health and the environment in North Carolina by providing education to water and wastewater professionals 2,500 members and 2,700 additional customers Annually provide 2 conferences, 7 week-long certification schools, and four to eight, one-day training seminars Early stages of developing a certification program Support an endowment fund and other outreach activities Primarily communicate through website, newsletters, social media, NC Currents quarterly magazine, and registration brochures 6 full-time and 1 part-time staff

Seminars x 4 Schools x 7 Conferences x 2 Break the Status Quo Previously produced 13 brochures annually to advertise events – in addition to quarterly newsletter Kept 2 conference brochures and condensed all other training events to a quarterly Training Catalog Replaced quarterly newsletter with outsourced quarterly magazine

Recruit a “Department”
Co-workers, volunteers, interns, etc. Target people with specific skills Illustrate how marketing impacts their goals, and then empower them to help Develop tools to make collaboration easier Written roles & responsibilities Worksheets, templates, and schedules Share tools using File sharing programs (DropBox, Box.Com, Google Docs, etc.) Project management programs (Asana, Trello, etc.)
