Members are stationed in 51 counties and reside in nearly all 92 counties in the state. There are 3,856 soldiers who reside in Marion and surrounding counties Armories, wings and maintenance facilities comprise > 7.35 million SF and serve as readiness platforms for 11,810 Soldiers and 1,918 Airmen The organization is supported by 2,900 full time state and federal civilian personnel Camp Atterbury Joint Maneuver Training Center includes almost 36,463 acres covering portions of four counties in southern Indiana, and a state-of-the-art urban training center at Muscatatuck, which adds an additional acres The 181st Intelligence Wing and 122nd Fighter Wing of the Indiana Air National Guard are located in Terre Haute and Fort Wayne, respectively Indiana is home to the Indiana Air Range Complex, which is comprised of 1,344 acres and includes two air-to-ground impact areas and associated Special Use Airspace for both kinetic and virtual use 100 502 1802 200 337 118 207 590 This slide takes a more detailed look at the disposition of the Indiana Army and Air National Guard across the State of Indiana Indiana National Guard consists of nearly 14,000 troops. Of note, nearly 4,000 of the 14,000 guardsmen in the state of Indiana reside in Indianapolis and the surrounding 8 counties With almost 3,000 full-time employees, we are one of Indiana’s largest full and part-time employers. Indiana also has one of the nation’s premier military training sites at Camp Atterbury and Muscatatuck, which has an average daily throughput of 1,100 Service Members per day. Indiana is also one of the few states with two separate Air Wings – located in Fort Wayne and Terre Haute respectively In total, the National Guard has an armory in 51 of 92 counties and our members reside in nearly every community and county in Indiana.
