Centre Gives - History Centre Gives
Established as an innovative granting program. Rather than Centre Foundation’s Grant Committee reviewing applications and deciding how to distribute grant money, Centre Gives puts this in the hands of the community. Under this new system, Centre Foundation’s grant dollars have reached many more organizations with a more diverse set of missions.
15
So, how big will YOUR organization’s Centre Gives grant check be?
16
Centre Gives - Facts Centre Gives
The more money a non-profit raises, the larger their share of Centre Foundation’s $100,000 stretch pool of grant dollars. Additionally, there is $25,000 in additional prizes available during Centre Gives.

Please note that we encourage donors to check their statements so that we can process any necessary refunds in a timely manner.
63
When/how do we get our Money?
After Centre Foundation staff members have reconciled all of the Centre Gives donations, refunds, stretch pool percentages, and prizes, each organization will receive a Disbursement Form to sign and return. This usually occurs early June. If you do not receive this form within that time frame, please contact our office.
64
Distribution Form Details
For Centre Gives 2017, the participation fee is 5%. This covers credit card fees, which can range from 2-3%. It also defrays from expenses incurred by Centre Foundation, including staff members’ time, materials, promotional items, etc. As you know, there is always a cost to raise a dollar. Our goal is to keep this cost low for participating organizations. During Centre Gives 2016, donations were stretched an average of 16%. This is after the participation fee was deducted.
