2 What is AZFAA & why are we here?
Arizona Forensic Artist Association We’re a group of Forensic Artists from around the state that have joined together to better serve our communities by assisting law enforcement agencies around the state with quality Forensic Art. We’re here today to let you know all of the different ways we can assist you in your investigations.

4 Composite Drawings Any type of art made from combining different images to form a single image. Intended to be a likeness or similarity of a victim's or witness's perception of a suspect or subject at the time a person was viewed. Two methods for creating composite drawings: Freehand & Computer Generated Uses: Provide a lead on a case through recognition by others. May provide new information and/or add additional information in the form of visual identification.

5 Composite Drawings NOT intended to be a portrait of an individual, but more of a two-dimensional likeness that is a visual record of the witness' recollections. Types of cases composite drawings may assist with: Any case where the victim or witness has viewed a suspect. Sexual assaults, homicides, hit & runs, assaults, robberies, etc.

Taking an existing image and making changes or enhancing Age progression Drawings from Surveillance Videos Removing or adding features like hair, glasses, etc & removing additions to images from Apps like Instagram & Snapchat Uses: Missing persons Wanted suspects Enhancing surveillance images Modifying Mug Shot Line Ups to make suspects look similar (ie. Adding facial hair, tattoos, etc.)

Drawings of subjects in the courtroom when video cameras are prohibited. Unknown Remains Forensic Facial Reconstruction: The process of recreating the face of an individual (whose identity is often not known) from their skeletal remains through an amalgamation of artistry, forensic science, anthropology, osteology, and anatomy.
