Thank you for inviting me to speak tonight. Typically the dinner meeting covers a specific quality topic, but tonight we focus on what is ASQ and what ASQ can do for you. Raise your hands if you are guests. Do we have members that have come tonight for the first time? I hope this presentation is beneficial to all of you.

ASQ is the world’s largest professional association for quality professionals and practitioners, with members in more than 150 countries, in all industries, career and management functions, to executive management roles. ASQ is also among the oldest associations, nearing 70 years of growth. As an association, ASQ is organized into 250 local sections (or chapters) in the U.S., 5 local sections and a growing set of local member communities in Mexico, China, India, Brazil and other areas; National Service Centers with offices in China, India and Mexico; 25 industry or quality topic forums and divisions; and fast-growing online communities. Only third-party Six Sigma Certification recognized worldwide; 15+ professional certifications and associated Quality Body of Knowledge in total Knowledge and Information leadership, online in the online Knowledge Center and Standards Central; and in print the world’s largest publisher of quality-related books, journals, and standards ASQ delivers membership, knowledge and certification services with a Market-focus in Manufacturing, Service Industries, Healthcare, Education, among others, globally.

ASQ Website As the entry point for members, customers, and individuals interested in our global quality community, ASQ.org offers a multitude of information and a variety of features. Some of the features: A new content-packed “carousel” at the top of the page Offers and promotions related to ASQ conferences, training, books and other products and services Featured headlines with quality themed news stories, ASQ news and case studies A community section including links to social networking communities. Also, simple navigation to sections, divisions/forums, and Local Member Communities globally

Knowledge Center ASQ’s online, and always growing, digital library of all quality knowledge, information and content, and search functions that make it something of the “Google” of Quality, altogether is the ASQ Knowledge Center. The content is refreshed at least weekly, if not more often. It features all formats, all topics and disciplines, it is global in scope, reaches to division Quality Bodies of Knowledge. All Enterprise member employees have this door to quality basics to 21st Century Quality Leadership topics opened to them.

ASQ Training Global, national, regional, local training
All delivery modes Instructors are ASQ-certified Society-wide course calendar Competency matrices Self-assessments Certification testing options All quality and certification disciplines, including Six Sigma Career and certification paths Technical and managerial Globally recognized certifications Training, certification discounts ASQ Enterprise Members are using the Learning Institute to assess, model/remodel and/or supplement their corporate learning management approaches, or are opting to utilize the institute for all quality management training—from basic tools to leadership development. Learning Institute courseware includes ASQ Green Belt, Black Belt, and Lean Six Sigma and Master Black Belt certification training. Certification testing is offered at ASQ Enterprise member sites, as requested, and on dates and sites, year-round, throughout the world; ASQ certifications are a globally recognized, peer-reviewed standard. ASQ Enterprise Members receive custom discounts on all training and certification offerings, and will be able to track employee participation in training and development throughout the enterprise.

A helpful FAQ regarding applying to take an exam, rescheduling an exam, acceptable calculators to be used during an exam and other information can be found at Certification FAQ's. Please note: you cannot bring cell phones, iPods, iPads, etc. into the exam room. Please make your proctor’s life easier, read your entire sitting letter, and leave these in your car.
