The purpose of this program is to promote rigorous academic pursuits and to provide a wide variety of options to college-ready students. Taking a college course from a public college or university College Credit Plus is free. That means no cost for tuition, books or fees. If you choose to attend a private college or university, you may have limited costs.

6 College Credit Plus CCP at LCCC: 2,643 students participated - 47% in 12th grade; 33% in 11th; 15% in 10th ; 4% in 9th; 0.9% in 8th; 0.3% in 7th 320 different courses taken 23,903 credits earned (96% passing rate!) Ohio’s new College Credit Plus can help students earn college and high school credits at the same time by taking college courses from community colleges or universities. 9 College Credit Plus Student Choice Students can choose any course that applies toward a degree or workforce certification, including: Transfer Module Electives Online Students can choose any course that applies toward a degree or workforce certification at a public (or participating private) college. In addition to being non-remedial, College Credit Plus courses may not be religious in nature. LCCC’s Religious Studies courses are permitted under CCP. Students can take courses online or at any of our learning centers.

10 Graduate with College Credit
College Credit Plus Graduate with College Credit Earn up to 30 college credit hours per academic year, including summer. No more than 120 college credit hours while in the program.

11 CCP & Interscholastic Athletics
College Credit Plus CCP & Interscholastic Athletics Student athletes should: Confirm their school is an OHSAA member. Learn the OHSAA requirements. Not rely on summer CCP courses to reduce the classes/courses they take during the fall and spring terms.

12 How Many Credits Can I Take?
College Credit Plus How Many Credits Can I Take? Count the number of secondary units for which the student is earning only high school credit Multiply that number by 3 Subtract that number from 30 Example: Student is enrolled for 4 secondary units 4x3= =18 Student is eligible to take 18 college credit hours during the current academic year

13 Books and Fees Students attending a public college
College Credit Plus Books and Fees Students attending a public college do not pay for either books or fees. Students attending a private college may have a cost that includes books and fees. Homeschool students must pay for textbooks.

College Comp - ENGL 161,162 – 6 sem hrs College Algebra/Precalculus- MTHM 171,172 – 7 sem hrs Principles of Biology - BIOG 161,162 – 8 sem hrs Findlay Calculus – Math 141 – 4 sem hrs Walk, Jog, or Run - LCCC PEFT sem hr *AP English is now offered independently of College Comp and AP US History will be offered instead of LCCC US History Mention that suggested course sequence is listed in packet on the first page under the pathways created with LCCC. Also detailed course descriptions and strong suggestions for appropriate placement can be found in the Schedule Planner, available on the MHS Student Services website, under “Academics.”

23 Grades are Applied to Graduation Requirements
College Credit Plus Grades are Applied to Graduation Requirements The grade you earn in the college course is applied to your high school graduation required class.

24 If you fail the class or drop it too late, you may have to pay for it.
College Credit Plus If you fail the class or drop it too late, you may have to pay for it. Classes failed or withdrawn with an “F” will receive an “F” on the high school and college transcripts and will be computed into the high school and college GPA. If you do not receive a passing grade, the district may, in some instances, seek reimbursement for the amount of state funds paid to the college on your behalf for that college course. The school district may withhold grades and credits received for high school courses taken until reimbursement has been made.

30 After Admission Create your MyCampus Account
College Credit Plus After Admission Create your MyCampus Account Complete orientation and CSI (in-person or online through MyCampus) Meet with your HS guidance counselor to discuss course selections and complete the Course Authorization Form

31 College Credit Plus Scheduling Classes Meet with an LCCC advisor to schedule classes. Bring your LCCC or other college schedule to your counselor ASAP. Scheduling for classes taught on-site at MHS is done through normal scheduling process. Advising sessions at LCCC and some high schools Enrollment Services Hours: visit the website to see your advisor’s availability Order your books online, then pick them up!

32 Criteria for Admission to University of Findlay CCP Program
College Credit Plus Criteria for Admission to University of Findlay CCP Program Submit your application online by April 1 at Search: College Credit Plus Submit a completed and signed student rights and responsibilities form by April 3rd to the student services office at MHS Findlay rep will be at MHS in the spring (date TBD) to administer Accuplacer to those students who need it. If using ACT/SAT scores, they must be received by your counselor no later than May 1st. Counselor will distribute and collect other necessary paperwork.

33 Criteria for Admission to University of Findlay CCP Program
College Credit Plus Criteria for Admission to University of Findlay CCP Program General admission: 2.5 cumulative GPA and one of following standardized test scores: ACT – Composite of 20 SAT – 950 (CR and M scores) Accuplacer – College Level Math: 44* AND Reading Comprehension: 80 In order to place into Findlay Calculus (Math 141) student must score a 78 or higher on the Accuplacer Math OR for students currently enrolled at MHS in LCCC College Algebra & Pre-calculus, a final grade of C or higher is required in addition to the general admissions requirements.
