About this program This program is designed to provide you a programming knowledge of TC600 radios. By completion of the program, you will be able to: Explain the main functions of TC600. Install and use TC600 programming software. Program and customize TC600 radios using TC600 programming software.

1. Main Functions TC600 is a high quality professional two-way radio, it has the following main functions: Monitor 25KHz/12.5KHz channel spacing compatible Switchable output power Programmable function keys Low Battery Alert Battery Save Squelch Level Control CTCSS, CDCSS, 2 Tone Encode/Decode DTMF ANI (Automatic Number Identification)
5
1. Main Functions Squelch Tail Elimination Time-Out-Timer(TOT)
Busy Channel Lockout Manual Adjust Mode
6
2. Programming Software Set Up
1. Double click set up file , set up the software according to the prompt. 2. Double click the programming software icon enter the software interface.
7
3. Radio Programming Main menu
File:Open/Close(open an existing file/close the present file), Save/Save as(save/save the present file as another), Print(print the present file), Exit(exit the program). Radio: Display the radio’s information. Program:Read(read data from the radio), Write(write data into the radio), open tuning window. Edit:channel and Operation Feature, open DTMF and 2-Tone window

3. Radio Programming Channel Settings No CH: Disable the channel
No TX: Disable Transmitting Rx Freq(MHz): Receive frequency Rx CTC/DCS: Receive CTCSS/CDCSS, “OFF” disable CTC/DCS 2-Tone Decode: Receive 2- Tone signal, “none” disable 2-Tone
11
3. Radio Programming Channel Settings Tx Freq(MHz): Transmit frequency
Tx CTC/DCS: Transmit CTCSS/CDCSS, “OFF” disable CTCSS/CDCSS 2-Tone Encode: Set the 2-Tone code Scan Delete/Add: Select on delete/added from/to the scan member List.
12
3. Radio Programming Channel Settings Busy Lockout:
OFF: Allows transmissions even when another transmission is detected on the current channel. ON: Prevents transmission when the Carrier Squelch threshold is detected on the current channel. Tx Power: Select high/low transmit power PTT ID: Select this channel PTT ID on/off. It is valid when the ANI function selected. Opt Signal: Select the 2-Tone/None Band Width: Select the band width between 25KHz and 12.5KHz
13
3. Radio Programming Optional Feature
TX TOT [s]: Selects the maximum amount of communication time allowed per transmission. Once this time expires, the transmission is automatically terminated OFF - The radio will always transmitting when the PTT pressed. Pre-alert Time[s]:Select the amount of the time the transceiver emits warning beeps before the TOT activates. TOT Rekey Time[s]: Select the amount of time the next PTT can be pressed when TOT activates. TOT Reset Time[s]: Select the amount of time that TOT counter reset after PTT release.
14
3. Radio Programming Optional Feature
Beep Tone: Select the beep tone ON/OFF. Squelch Level: Adjust the squelch level; selectable value 0 to 9. Manual Tune: OFF: Not allow to tune the radio. ON: The user can tune the radio by press “PTT “and “Function Key”. Battery Save:The automatic Battery Save during standby operation causes the receiver circuit to cycle ON and OFF to conserve battery life, except in Scan Mode.
15
3. Radio Programming Optional Feature
Band Width: Select the band width between wide and narrow. Scan Mode: In CO mode, the radio will remain on a busy channel until the signal is no longer present. In TO mode, the radio will scan the next channel when the time exceed the TO Scan Delay. “OFF” disable Scan. Priority Ch: Select a fixed Priority channel to be used in scan mode. “OFF” disable Priority ch. Look Back[s] : When a Priority channel is set, if the channel from which a call is received during scan is not a Priority channel, the transceiver still checks for calls from the Priority channel at set intervals while scanning is paused. This operation is called Look Back.
16
3. Radio Programming Optional Feature
Revert Ch: In scan mode the transceiver can be programmed to revert to a certain channel upon pressing [PTT]. This allows the transceiver to be customized to the users transmission requirements while using scan. The revert channel types are last call Ch,last used Ch, 1st scan Ch, Priority Ch. Dropout Delay Time[s]: Dropout Delay Time is the time from the end of a received call to the time scan automatically resumes. Monitor : OFF: disable this function. Monitor Lock:hold down the monitor key to monitor a channel. Release to stop. Monitor Momentary: press the monitor key to monitor a channel. Stop by pressing again. SQ OFF Momentary : hold down the monitor key to unmute the transceiver if a carrier is present, regardless of the Signalling conditions. Release to stop. SQ OFF Lock: press the monitor key to unmute the transceiver if a carrier is present, regardless of the Signalling conditions. Stop by pressing again.
17
3. Radio Programming 2-Tone Encode
Power Select : High/low output power select. “ON” enable power select function key. “OFF” disable this function. 2-Tone Encode Tone 1/2/Single Tone Time[s] Select the tone period for each digit tone signal emission length. Gap Time: Select the gap time between Tone 1 and Tone 2. Signal Relationship:Select the relationship between 2-Tone and CTDCSS . Side Tone: Select the alert mode when the 2 tone send out .
18
3. Radio Programming 2-Tone Encode
Tone 1 and Tone 2: Select the tone code frequency for Tone 1 and Tone 2
19
3. Radio Programming 2-Tone Decode
In this window, you can set the 4 group of 2 tone decode parameter. Call Format: Select the combination used for the current 2-Tone Signaling System. Call Response: Select the response mode when the radio received valid 2-tone. Tone A/B/C/: Select the frequency of decode tone A, B, or C. Alert Tone Select: Select the alert tone level from 1~8. Auto Reset Time[s]:Selects the amount of time that auto end the release squelch state. Alert Tone Time[ms]: Selects the amount of time that alert beep.
20
3. Radio Programming DTMF Parameters Settings
Speed Digits[Digits/s] : Select the number of DTMF from 5 to 15. First Digit time: 100ms~1000ms The first digit transmitting time during DTMF code transmission. Firs Digit Delay[ms]: 100ms~1000ms One digit transmitting time during DTMF code transmission. *And # Digits[ms]: This parameter extends the transmission time of the "*" and "#" tones. D Code Assignment[s]: D Code Assignment allows the "D" symbol to be used as a pause period in the Begin of TX ID, End of TX ID DTMF code strings. DTMF side Tone: allows a Tone to sound after the DTMF is encoded.
21
3. Radio Programming PTT ID setting Key Assignment
PTT ID: You can select the timing to transmit the PTT ID (connect/disconnect/ Both) in PTT ID, OFF: no ANI. Connect ID: 1 to 16 digit can be set when selected Disconnect ID: 1 to 16 digit can be set when selected Key Assignment Long : monitor or power select. Short : monitor or power select.
22
Question How to set 2 tone signalling?
