Study Habits and Time Management Seminar
Target date: July 19, 2010 Project Head: Douglas Dy The Study Habits and Time Management Seminar is the first session of the AcademACheS Seminar Series for this school year. Participants shall discover their academic learning styles and the appropriate studying strategies for each. This seminar shall also teach the students on how to manage their time for academics and extra-curriculars.

Chemistry Connections
Target date: Week of August 2-6 Project Head: Vincent de la Cerna Chemistry Connections (Chem Conn) is a chemistry competition open to all students taking up General Chemistry I (CH7) during the first semester. Library and Tutorials Target date: Year-long
Project Head: AcademACheS Committee The AcademACheS Services is a year-long project in which the organization provides academic assistance to the chemistry students in form of book and sample long exam lending (library) and tutorials on chemistry subjects. The ACheS Library shall be opened to all ACheS members, while the tutorial services shall be opened to all ADMU Loyola Schools students taking-up any chemistry subject.

Chemistry Software and Applications Seminar
Target date: September 3, 2010 Project Head: Phillip Gotico The Chemistry Software and Applications Seminar is the second session of the AcademACheS Seminar Series for this school year. In this talk, the participants (grouped according to their year-levels) shall be introduced to common chemistry laboratory software tools and their applications to their chemistry subjects.

ACheS Inter-High School Chemistry Competition
Target date: January, 2010 Project Head: Mendel Chan, Wilbert Sible The IHSCC is a chemistry competition for third year high school students, which aims to promote academic excellence in, and appreciation of chemistry among high school students. This also serves as an avenue for the Chemistry department to endorse its degree programs, and to make ACheS and the Ateneo Chemistry Department known outside the Loyola Schools. Build-a-Lab Target date: Year-long Project Head: Matthew Lee
Originally a project under Science and Technology for the Enhancement of Public Schools (STEPS), now on its second year, is in the process of proving is sustainability for our current benefactor, Mandaluyong Science High School. AcheS helps through the reorganizing and restocking of the chemistry labs. Kimikabuhayan is a tie-up project with MACA (Management with Applied Chemistry Association) that aims to enrich the livelihoods and standards of living of those living in Gawad Kalinga areas. This is a first-time tie up with MACA that is also a year-long commitment to helping others through our expertise and passion in chemistry. Project Volunteers

Project Head: Anna Cabatuando, Joy Codia ChemPropa is a chemistry- based fashion show and competition that urges contestants to create fashionable designs with an unusual theme in mind. Rummage Sale and Paper Drive
Target date: 2nd week January Project Head: Luigi Opena and Jed Barcelon One man’s junk is another man’s treasure. Have old clothes lying around? Wonder what to do with old newspapers and english readings? The rummage sale is a chance for you to get rid of your old, unwanted stuff in exchange for glorious housepoints. Choice items will also be auction out to anybody interested! This project will take place during the second semester; planning and preparation will begin during the first half of the school year. Beat the Chem Geeks Target date: Week of Sept. 13-17
Project Head: Japhet Calupitan Beat the Chem Geeks is one of the Ateneo Chemistry Society (ACheS) Week projects. This is a competition open to all Ateneans, which involve general knowledge questions. The participants shall compete with each other and with a Chem Geek. The competition shall be patterned to the game show 1 versus 100. Target date: Week of Sept Project Head: David Fua The Ice cream making contest is a venue for culinary enthusiasts to show their talents in whipping up appetizing ice cream concoctions while appreciating the chemistry behind it. Ateneo Chemistry Society Office of the Vice President for Academics Library System For lost and damaged books: the borrower is required to either pay a fine or replace the book with either the exact copy of the book or its latest edition. The sanction for damages and loss shall be deliberated by the academACheS library team. The violations and the corresponding deliberated sanctions shall then be posted a week after the notification of loss or damage. One week is given to fulfill the sanctions (including holidays and weekends). The only people allowed to release and accept books, and receive fines for overdue are the members of the Library Team: VP for Academics, his/her deputies, and the Person-in-Charge (PIC) for the school year. The Library Team will conduct an inventory at the end of each semester to ensure that the ACheS Library Collection remains intact. All Library Collections must be returned three days after the end of the last Final Exam day. academACheS Services

Make sure all receipts are “Official Recipts” addressed to “Ateneo de Manila University”. Write name and contact details of person asking for reimbursement at the back of receipt. Ask them to sign too. Paste receipts on a sheet of bond paper (can be more than one per sheet as long as total does not exceed php ) Pass this to the Finance Committee head and wait.

Other duties of the Finance Team
An excerpt from the Codex Finance (Code of Financial Procedures): 2.2.1 One of the main duties of the Finance head is to make sure that the project they are assigned to remains on budget. As such, all Finance Heads are given the right to threaten, cajole, manipulate, harass, seduce, etc the members of their teams in order to keep spending to a minimum. This right is extended to a lesser degree unto the finance team of a project. If an increase in budget is truly required, submit a request to the current Primarch of Finance. Remember; Extravagance Breeds Heresy, Fear Ensures Loyalty.
