1 Luke 18

2 The Persistent Widow This woman went to the judge seeking justice
He didn’t fear God or care about men, but he gave her justice to keep her from wearing him out If a corrupt judge knows how to make sure justice is served, how much more will God make sure we receive justice

3 The Pharisee & The Tax Collector
The Pharisee thanked God that he was “better” than other men The tax collector confessed his sins and pleaded for God’s mercy The tax collector, NOT the Pharisee, went home justified before God

4 Psalm 51:16-17 “You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”

5 I Samuel 16:7 “The Lord does not look at things man looks at. Man looks at outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.”

6 Jesus and the Children Children are not just the Church of tomorrow; they are an important part of the Church of today Children posses an innocence and purity of heart that allows them to believe what they have been told We should follow their example in this area

7 Jesus and the Rich Young Ruler
His question seems to be sincere, but what he really wants is to justify himself in his own eyes “The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil.” (I Tim. 6:10) When something begins to compromise our relationship with God, it becomes a problem and a stumbling block for us

8 Jesus and the Blind Man Many Jews believed that if someone had a disability, they were being punished for their sins The blind man didn’t care what anybody thought; he believed Jesus could heal him Jesus healed him and everyone praised God
