Philosophy of Education
All students have the right to equal access to a rigorous, meaningful education All students have the right to access the resources, materials, technology and participation necessary to be successful in class Students learn differently and therefore different teaching methods should be applied in class to activate students’ various learning styles The ANSWER is not always the goal – sometimes the PROCESS to get the answer is more valuable

Course Objectives: Introductory through intermediate/advanced course in photography, focusing primarily on digital photography with some darkroom experience. The course will cover topics such as: Technical use and understanding of cameras and photo processes Compositional understanding and the elements and principles of artworks The role of the artist/photographer in society Art History - context of photography through history Contemporary photographers and artists Aesthetics and artistic voice Careers in Photography Course Information Available in Google Drive Shared folder and also at:

Course Objectives Throughout the course students will have the opportunity to: Create a body of original photographic work Engage in discussions and critiques Create a digital portfolio Experience guest artists and speakers Visit galleries, museums or location shoots Use a variety of digital media to create original work Incorporate photography, digital media, social media and other tools to create original work

Required Materials Flash Drive
Camera – SLR digital and film are available for use in class Students may shoot on phones in a pinch! Camera Use Agreement Notebook/sketchbook Photo KIT: At Bookstore Contains film, photo paper, digital print paper, neg. sleeves, portfolio Feel free to share/split
