2 Prelude

3 *Call to Worship

4 In a world with too much violence,
too much war We give thanks to all who pray sacrifice for peace. In a world with too much tyranny and oppression, We work with love – and justice for all.

5 In a world with too much hunger
and greed, We promise our plenty for all. Our hope is God. The God of peace and love and justice and plenty for all. Come, let us worship God together.

6 *Processional Hymn SPP #7 Welcome to This House

11 Unison Prayer

12 God of power and mercy, you lead us to end war and all forms of earthly pride. We ask you to banish violence from our midst and strengthen Us in our sorrow and laments. We seek the day when all know one another as sisters and brothers.

13 We hold dear all who serve
and sacrifice for freedom and justice; yesterday, today and tomorrow. We pray for those who have gone before us and given their lives; for their family and friends, we pray.

14 Watch over us all, Gracious God
and bring those in danger’s way home safely, In this and much more we give thanks and we pray.

22 *Hymn NCH #413 By Gracious Powers

23 By gracious powers so wonderfully sheltered, and confidently waiting, come what may, We know that God is with us night and morning, and never fails to greet us each new day.

24 Yet is this heart by its old foe tormented, still evil days bring burdens hard to bear; O give our frightened souls the sure salvation for which, O God, you taught us to prepare.

25 And when this cup you give
is filled to brimming with bitter sorrow, hard to understand, We take it thankfully and without trembling, out of so good and so beloved a hand.

26 Yet when again in this same world you give us the joy we had, the brightness of your sun, We shall remember all the days we lived through, and our whole life shall then be yours alone.

32 Offertory

33 We praise thee, O God, our Redeemer, Creator; in grateful devotion, our tribute we bring. We lay it before thee, we come and adore thee, We bless thy holy name, glad praises we sing. Amen.

34 * Closing Hymn NCH #257 Alleluia, Gracious Jesus

35 Alleluia! Gracious Jesus!
Yours the scepter, yours the throne! Alleluia! Yours the triumph, Yours the victory alone! Hark! The songs of peaceful Zion Thunder like a mighty flood; Jesus, out of every nation You’ve redeemed us by your blood.

36 Alleluia! Not as orphans are
we left in sorrow now. Alleluia! You are near us; faith believes, nor questions how. Though the cloud from sight received you  when the forty days were o’er, shall our hearts forget your promise, “I am with you ever more.”

37 Alleluia! Bread of angels,
you on earth our food, our stay. Alleluia! Here the sinful flee to you from day to day. Intercessor, friend of sinners, earth’s Redeemer, plead for me, and the songs that sound in heaven will repeat your gracious plea.

38 nothing can disrupt your reign; Alleluia! Born of Mary, heaven
Alleluia! Christ eternal, nothing can disrupt your reign; Alleluia! Born of Mary, heaven and earth are your domain. Human life you fully entered, tending those we count the least, serving both as Priest and Victim in the eucharistic feast.
