Identified Gaps Oklahoma State Support Plan Top Four Identified Needs
Medical/Mental Health Resources for SM in remote locations Financial Counseling Non-medical Counseling Resiliency Resources for Geographically Separated Service Members & Families Financial Counseling Promote Military OneSource and NG-PFC resources to military members at events and direct support activities. 1st Qtr 2016 MOS Consultant promoted financial resources at seven events with 1,954 participants, and seven group direct support activities with 376 participants. Educate and collaborate with military service providers and leadership, and enlist their support to help educate the military communities they serve Non-medical Counseling Educate military service providers and military leadership via community capacity building activities Educate SM’s and families at every opportunity i.e. events and direct support activities Work with counseling providers to expand the Military OneSource affiliate network of counselors Collaborative meeting with the Regional On Demand Supervisor of Military and Family Life Counseling, and provided information on the process to become a Military OneSource affiliate network provider. Resiliency Resources for Geographically Separated Service Members & Families Provide Military OneSource program education to military service providers, SM’s and families Participate in various recurring meetings with service provider organizations i.e. Warrior Partnerships of Eastern Oklahoma, Tulsa-Mayor’s Veterans Advisory Council, OKC Veterans Council, Veteran Families Wellness Alliance, etc. Collaborate with government organizations to promote program services i.e. OK State Department of Health, Universities, Oklahoma Employment Security Commission, OKNG Employment Coordination Program, etc. Place FPO and MOS materials at major airports, USO’s, Armed Services YMCA, OSDH, and other military service provider locations Leverage virtual outreach platforms to reach geographically separated SM’s and families Webinar outreach with Army Wounded Warrior Program (AW2) Advocates throughout the state Military OneSource and OKNG-CY Program webinars with geographically separated OKNG children and youth Monthly webinar training series in partnership with the Tinker Airman & Family Readiness Center Directions: List any gaps that you have already identified through your MOS Consultant / State Plan How are you currently addressing them?
