4. LIVE AGENT TRAINING FORMER STATUS
No common standards concerning LAT so far.
National law and regulations:
Occupational Safety and Health Protection;
HAZMAT Handling;
Best practices
Design and technical properties of Live Agent Training Site (LATS):
Outdoor/Indoor/Both;
Technical equipment to control possible hazard;
Environmental aspects:
Live Agent Training Site placement;
Terrain (soil composition, forestation, water resources etc.)

5. NATO REQUIREMENTS CBR reconnaissance CBR decontamination CBRN EOD
CBRN forensics – sampling & identification
CBR exploitation – contaminated traces sampling and handling – coordination with C-IED

6. TRAINING AUDIENCE Train NATO specialists (CBRN, CBRN EOD, C-IED, etc.)
Possibly support EU in such training
Possible training opportunity for OPCW inspectors – if feasible
Civilian CBRN specialists under the CEPC and CEP TRG programme

7. TRAINING OBJECTIVES TECHNICAL
Trainees confidence in equipment’s detection, analytical, decontamination and protective capabilities;
TACTICAL
Remove improper lessons from using simulating agents only (placebo effect), and
Acquire necessary skills and experience in work in the area really contaminated by live agents
PSYCHOLOGICAL
Contribute to overcome trainees’ fear of live agents with keeping of natural respect towards them;
Contribute to develop a positive esprit de corps among unit members;

3 criteria for course accreditation:
Course fulfills a NATO need (listed in TRA)
TNA completed
QA standards are met
Validate NATO LAT standard, in line with national Educational Standards
End state - NATO accredited LAT course to ensure the quality of the course and promote reliability of national training
