Kristallnacht Known as “the night of broken glass”. On this night, over 1600 Jewish shops, synagogues, and homes were attacked and looted, and over 30,000 Jewish men were sent to concentration camps. This officially marked the beginning of the Holocaust.

The Nuremberg Laws Laws passed in 1935 that institutionalized many of the racial theories prevalent in Nazi ideology. The laws excluded German Jews from Reich citizenship and prohibited them from marrying or having sexual relations with persons of "German or related blood."
