Approximately 100 kilowatt hours of energy is saved.

that would otherwise be needed to produce that energy.

7. CVEC
Coastal Virginia Environmental Coatings(CVEC) is a latex paint recycling company based in Newport News, VA. CVEC’s goal is to eliminate as much water based latex paint and typical packaging from landfill disposal as possible.
Currently in discussion and receiving positive feedback from 17 local municipalities, facilities and businesses.
Currently in permitting for approval of concept and process from regulatory agencies.
Facility being set-up to process up to 250,000 gallons a year and can be increased without interrupting processing.

8. Process
Collection:
Paint is collected from landfills, recovery centers, and directly from private companies and citizens.
Batch control:
Paint is recorded by date, origin, weight and all relative information and identification reference number. This reference number will accompany the paint throughout the entire process.
Once sorted, paints will be processed following CVEC ‘s *proprietary recycling/reformulating procedures* to create paints, primers, and specialty coatings.

9. Process, continued
Any water based latex paint deemed unrecyclable will be reused in asphalt/concrete or disposed of in the most environmentally way possible, all within local, state, federal regulations.
All recyclable materials (paint, cans/pails, cardboard boxes) will be recycled, tracked, and logged into a database by quantity/weight and provided to municipalities as needed.
