5 STUDIES – BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Three major upcoming studies INFRASTRUCTUR E MANAGEMENT (Q2) PIGGYBACK TRANSPORTATIO N SERVICES (Q3) OPERATIONAL PLAN (Q2)

6 INFRASTRUCTURE MANAGMENT STUDY
Review and analyze the pros and cons of the different models Identify the most suitable model for Rail Baltica: project life-cycle economic efficiency efficient market functioning Provide a draft stakeholder agreement Start of tender: Q2

7 PIGGYBACK TRANSPORTATION STUDY
Inaugural study in a comprehensive set of commercialization studies and activities A pre-feasibility study to analyze: future market demand technical and infrastructural prerequisites various technologies and solutions available in the market administrative and marketing tools for the development of piggyback transportation services along the Rail Baltica corridor The study shall assess the commercial viability of such services and propose a roadmap to establish such services Other potential commercialization studies: air-rail intermodality, 1435/1520 mm interface, Baltic passenger mobility, digitalization and innovation, future user identification and engagement, etc. Start of tender: Q3

8 OPERATIONAL PLAN The operational plan includes the study of:
interoperability organization of maintenance management of traffic flow To be carried out in accordance with the revised traffic model acquired through the updated CBA. Start of tender: Q3

9 STUDIES – UPCOMING TENDERS
02 SUPPLIER MARKET STUDIES BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT 01 03 FREIGHT TERMINALS & OTHERS

10 SUPPLIER MARKET STUDIES - TENDERS
Year 2017 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 Control, Command and Signaling sybsystem procurement and deployment strategy Energy subsystem procurement and deployment strategy Railway superstructure components & infrastructure elements Supply of mineral materials in Estonia Supply of mineral materials in Latvia Supply of mineral materials in Lithuania Mineral materials procurement and delivery strategy RAMS study is missing 33 Rail Baltic/ Rail Baltica reliability, availability and maintainability and safety study | Railway systems are combinations of software, electronics and mechanical components and the interactions between technical systems and the economical / social systems are inter-dependent. This study aims to provide knowledge and skills to enable designers/infrastructure managers in the development and operation of safe, reliable and easily maintainable systems. The result of study prescribes how products and systems can be used safely, and how technical faults can be avoided and how to plan and cost-effectively perform maintenance. Services Q RB Rail AS

11 Control, Command and Signaling & Energy subsystems
Both subsystems will be procured and deployed centrally by RB Rail The aim - to produce a comprehensive procurement and deployment strategy: market and supplier assessment ensuring optimum interoperability through single solution dynamic deployment schedule. The study elements: supplier market analysis, technical pre- study, procurement and deployment strategy development. Start of tender: Q4

12 Railway superstructure components & infrastructure elements
Study aim: to determine whether procurement cost savings can be generated via economies of scale by consolidating the procurement of railway superstructure components and railway infrastructure elements Analysis of: the market conditions and availability, potential supplier identification, initial quality assessment pricing aspects. Start of tender Q2 2017 The primary aim of this study is to determine whether procurement cost savings can be generated via economies of scale by consolidating the procurement of railway superstructure components and railway infrastructure elements (e.g. rails, fastenings, sleepers, switches, ballast, pre-fabricated culverts, underpasses, small bridges / viaducts, noise barriers, etc.) Additionally, this study will analyze the market conditions and availability, potential supplier identification, initial quality assessment and pricing aspects. Start of tender Q2 2017

13 Supply of mineral materials in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
Study on technical and physical-chemical quality of available active and passive mineral deposits and quarries Analyzis of the availability of natural resources (in the vicinity of the construction works), the market conditions and availability, potential supplier identification, initial quality assessment and pricing aspects the possible options, economic effects Result: propose the most feasible option to enable sufficient supply without causing unacceptable negative impact on the environment Start of tenders: Q2 These studies will focus on technical and physical-chemical quality of available active and passive mineral deposits and quarries (mainly sand, gravel, limestone) in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The studies will analyze the availability of those natural resources in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania and in particular in the vicinity of the construction works of Rail Baltica. The study shall also investigate the possible options, economic effects and propose the most feasible option in order to enable sufficient supply without causing unacceptable negative impact on the environment. These studies will analyze the market conditions and availability, potential supplier identification, initial quality assessment and pricing aspects.

14 Supply of mineral materials in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania
Study on how to generate cost savings on mineral materials’ procurement CONSOLIDATED PROCUREMENT DECENTRALISED PROCUREMENT Start of tender: Q4 2017 Additional study will determine whether procurement cost savings can be generated via economies of scale by consolidating the procurement of mineral materials needed for railway construction in the three Baltic states, as opposed to procuring them in a decentralized fashion by each national implementing body or contractor directly

15 STUDIES – UPCOMING TENDERS
02 SUPPLY MATERIALS/ SYSTEMS BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT 01 03 FREIGHT TERMINALS & OTHERS

16 STUDIES- FREIGHT TERMINALS & OTHER
Spatial and technical analysis of the co-effect for an additional freight station/dry port terminal and buffer station in Tallinn Climate change impact assessment study for Rail Baltica Study of the Pärnu freight terminal for Rail Baltica global project Rail Baltica reliability, availability and maintainability and safety study

17 Pärnu freight terminal study
Tallinn freight station/dry port terminal study Study on proposed alternatives for the Pärnu freight terminal: feasibility study market study with freight forecast modelling spatial and technical analysis selection of preferred option Starting after Muuga Intermodal freight terminal study Possible connections with Tallinn/Helsinki tunnel entrance Start of procurement Q2 Start of procurement Q4 The study aims to analyze the proposed alternatives for the Pärnu freight terminal from the viewpoint of additional benefits for the feasibility of the Global Project. Feasibility study Market study with freight forecast modelling Spatial and technical analysis Selection of preferred option

18 Climate change impact assessment study for Rail Baltica
Purpose: To identify key climate change risks To assess vulnerability of the pre-designed infrastructure To prepare recommendations for adaptation measures for design, construction and maintenance of the railway and for railway operations and organization How the product will be used: As guidance for designers and construction companies As inputs fur further planning of railway development and operations planning Start of tender: Q2
